Patience is also needed for the negotiations. In many cases the insurance adjuster will start out with a low settlement amount, which you could decline with a formal letter. You could then present a counter offer and wait for the insurance company’s response, which could come in a day or two. You need to be patient and not jump on the first offer that comes along as this is usually on the lower end of the range the insurance adjuster is allowed to offer you.
